Save Burtonwood Village Greenbelt from Development and Destruction (Warrington North)

Save Burtonwood Village Greenbelt from Development and Destruction (Warrington North)

The Issue

Burtonwood is a small village, with a close-nit community which spans generations. The people who live here do so because they enjoy the village feel, surrounding farmland and wildlife, which we want to preserve for future generations to enjoy, rather than turning our small village in to yet another sprawling urban district.

Burtonwood is a small village with relatively few services, and already very congested roads.

Burtonwood is home to a large number of people committed to preserving and looking after the village as it is, with several groups operating as caretakers for various aspects within the village, such as; Woody Wombles (voluntary litter pickers); Burtonwood in Bloom (flower planters) The Nature Park stewards who have done a great job helping wildlife to thrive, including the return of several small bat species return, which use the fields between the Nature Park and the village as their feeding grounds. Bats are a protected species so any destruction to their habitat should be taken very seriously.

There is also popular equestrian community with people and children from all backgrounds getting involved, many of the fields around the village are used for either horse grazing, or hay productions. Any loss in farm land would not only affect the livery yards, but all those local businesses that depend on them.

We the undersigned oppose any such development on Burtonwood Greenbelt land and call upon the council and the local councillors to reject any such applications made.
