Save Anaconda Rollercoaster at Kings Dominion

Save Anaconda Rollercoaster at Kings Dominion
The Issue
Anaconda at Kings Dominion is more than just a rollercoaster—it’s a piece of history and a cherished memory for so many of us. Built in 1991 by Arrow Dynamics, Anaconda has been the first looping coaster for countless kids and young thrill-seekers. For me, it was the ride that sparked my love for coasters when I was just a kid. Now, at 22 years old, it’s still my favorite ride in the park, and hearing that it might be demolished has absolutely broken my heart. I have an attachment to this rollercoaster unlike any other. I proudly display a sticker of it on my car and am even having a small 3D model made for my bedroom. Additionally, I manage an Instagram account dedicated to it, @anaconda_rollercoaster, which I’ve maintained since 2019. My first experience on this rollercoaster was as a child, riding with my late mother, whom I lost in 2022. Whenever I ride it, I always feel like she’s with me.
This ride isn’t just about the loops, the twists, or the dive underwater—it’s about the memories and happiness it creates. For years, I’ve ridden Anaconda every time I visit the park, and I know I’m not the only one. I even have a fan account of it on instagram. It’s the perfect introduction to looping coasters for kids who are just tall enough to start exploring thrill rides. It’s unique, classic, and a one-of-a-kind Arrow Dynamics coaster that you just don’t see anymore.
Removing Anaconda would mean taking away a part of Kings Dominion’s identity and a ride that holds so much sentimental value for so many guests. Instead of demolishing it, there are ways to preserve it—such as refurbishing it with cost-effective vest restraints or offering a proper farewell season where fans can come and enjoy one last ride, similar to what Kings Island did with Vortex.
Please don’t let Anaconda disappear without a fight. It’s a beloved ride that deserves to stay and continue creating memories for future generations. If there’s anything we, as fans, can do to help—whether it’s signing this petition, donating to the park, or spreading the word—let us know. Anaconda is worth saving.
If you feel the same, please sign this petition and share it with your friends, family, and fellow coaster enthusiasts. Let’s show Kings Dominion how much Anaconda means to us!
