The issue

Cara Greedy and I believe we are victims of intimate partner violence resulting in protection orders. Jason (Jay) Hart is a UK citizen, currently residing in Australia on a COVID-19 bridging visa. Jay is an ex-professional soccer player who fled from the UK after being sacked from Clitheroe F.C. for his involvement in a negative public sex scandal.

Since arriving in Australia, 5 years ago, Mr. Hart is alleged to have at least 4 separate protection orders and at least 2 assault charges. He has been banned from seeking.com for physical assault and banned from Bumble for his Australian criminal history.

My protection order is in place for 5 years, while Cara has a lifetime order. These 2 cases alone speak volumes of the threat this man poses to the Australian community and the next woman he encounters. While our stories are personal, they echo the experiences of many others, making it a matter of national concern.

In our pursuit to protect the next women, we have petitioned; Football Victoria, Sydenham Park SC, Caroline Springs George Cross FC, Australian Border Force, Federal Immigration Minister Tony Burke, Assistant Minister for Immigration Matt Thistlethwaite, and Secretary of the Department of Home Affairs Stephanie Foster PSM pleading for a stance against violence towards women, his dismissal as a paid player of the soccer community and ultimately, a character review and visa cancellation based on the court documented evidence of his violent behavior towards women in Australia.

Mr. Hart remains in Australia, refusing tax-payer-funded male behavioral reform programs, taking no responsibility for his behavior.

We have official correspondence from the Director of Character and Cancellation Program Management at the Department of Home Affairs, stating that our evidence against Mr. Hart has been submitted to the relevant department for review.

The intel on Mr. Hart has been with the Australian Government since 2022. Since that time, its alleged that at least 3 other women have been hurt. This should have been avoided. The government’s inaction against Mr. Hart is hurting Australian women.

This petition calls for the immediate revision of immigration laws with strong consideration for the violent behaviour of visa holders.

Specifically, we are lobbying Tony Burke to intervene personally and cancel Mr. Hart’s visa AND review the Migration Act 1958 to close the loophole and connect the immigration and justice systems, ensuring violent offending triggers a character test for visa holders.

Given the current legal framework, perpetrators of violence are able to remain in the country despite multiple protection orders being applied by the courts. Women, like myself, are left to live in constant fear and terrified that another woman will have to endure what we did.

Violence in Australia is not getting any better. In fact, the alarming reality is even worse

→ 1 in 4 women in Australia have experienced violence by an intimate partner.

→ 1 in 5 women have experienced sexual violence since the age of 15.

→ Over 2 in 5 (43%) of recorded murders were related to family and domestic violence.

→ On average, 1 woman is killed every 9 days by a current or former partner.

→ In 2025, 25 women have been killed so far due to domestic and family violence.

These figures are not proof of a healthy functioning society; rather, the opposite.

In view of these grim realities, I urge you to instigate change for the safety of Australian women.

I encourage you to sign this petition to help us make Australia a safer place for every resident. By doing so, we can ensure that offenders are held accountable for their actions and that no more women need to live in fear for their lives. Please, sign this petition; your single action could save lives.
