My email to the Chief Inspector on 19th May did get a response. He promised to send Inspectors and they did come, accessing Camp Kitty through my property (CK is permanently padlocked, see photo).
Since that visit I have heard nothing. The solitary cat has survived very cold weather but still does not have any company or adequate shelter, with also an erratic food supply.
The one time resident caretaker returns for brief periods after three homeless men camped on the site for about five weeks. They were often seen obtaining water and fishing in the dam. Without any power to the house the toilets would have been inoperative! However the situation regarding shelter and regular feeding is unchanged.
I did email the Chief Inspector once more about attendance, supervision and feeding but have received no response.
There also seems to be no interest shown in my offer of finding the solitary cat a loving and caring home.
In future updates I will let readers know of the involvement of another agency that could have had a better impact in this matter. This is Cowra Shire Council.
In my opinion the involvement (or lack of) of Cowra Council has been woeful, but more of that another time.
RSPCA email address is mail@rspcansw.org.au and their phone no is 02 9770 7555
Regards, Keith
