Mr McCudden seems to be Teflon coated where the RSPCA NSW and Cowra Shire Council is concerned.
A case in point is the situation where a lady (KN) who now lives in Bathurst NSW was found to have been maliciously prosecuted by the RSPCA NSW over the keeping of cats. In 2002, she eventually received a small settlement from the RSPCA .This was after she won her case for malicious prosecution regarding a court case that the RSPCA NSW had brought against her! .
On 15 April 2016, to escape scrutiny from Cowra Council, McCudden signed an agreement to lease two catteries from KN to house 56 of his cats. In an effort to try and get him to comply with Council Orders, Cowra Council allowed him to own 33 cats and promised to strictly monitor him when the case was heard at the Land and Environment Court. It is for those reasons that the Cowra Magistrate allowed him to retain the 33 Cats. But of course 56 cats of his were at Bathurst, so it seems that Court Orders (from the Land and Environment Court) could have been broken!
As is customary with McCudden he did not comply with any of the signed agreements between himself and KN. She was left was left to supply all the food and vet care for his cats. As at July 26th 2016, McCudden owed KN in excess of $46.000 for the boarding and care of his cats. On 25 July 2016, KN received a letter from McCudden’s then Solicitors in Bathurst NSW with instructions that Richard McCudden wishes to attend your property this weekend or the following weekend to collect and if necessary trap his cats. The instructions also stated that he will pay to you all your outstanding costs for the feeding of his cats from when he first left his cats with you until he collects the cats from your property this weekend with payment to be made by him to you when he first arrives at your property this weekend. The instruction further added that he will also return 2 large travel carriers for cats and a diabetic tester/ monitor to you when he first arrives to collect his cats.
To date McCudden has not paid this lady who so generously stepped in to help him in his time of need. He removed some cats from her property when she was away and an RSPCA Inspector, removed some others after telling KN that McCudden had surrendered the cats to the RSPCA. I am led to believe that the RSPCA Inspector promised to return for the remainder of McCudden’s cats but did not do so.
There are debt collectors attempting to locate McCudden as well as persons looking to serve Notice on him. He evades them by remaining away from Camp Kitty for long periods and by arriving very late at nights and leaving very early in the mornings.
These are just a few reasons why money should not be donated to this man as he could well use it to pay off his debts rather than feed his cats.
Further to my last post a gentleman came to see me to find out if I had any knowledge of where McCudden was residing. He had lost a young kitten and wished to speak with McCudden about it. Unfortunately I could tell him no more that what I have told the readers of this petition.
