Dear Readers, I finally managed to get the site reopened after browsing around the petition site and encouragement from Andea. Many thanks. For all those people who follow this petition so many thanks. It is your commenting that makes this site so effective and I am sure the RSPCA study every comment. Please keep it up. I print below a letter I received today from Margot. It is just one example of the people out there who care and are prepared to go to considerable lengths to show their concern. Dear Mr. Climpson (Sunday 26th Feb 17) I have been following the Camp Kitty issue on Change.org. I cannot leave comments on this site as I don’t have a Facebook profile that’s why I am writing to you. Its difficult to understand why the combined forces of RSPCA and Cowra Council could not come to grips with the awful situation. My idea is that the overriding body, RSPCA Australia might be interested in this. They would have weight and influence if they decided that RSPCA NSW had failed to act properly. Only a few weeks ago, WA RSPCA took all the cats from an elderly cat hoarder lady. Her cats were far fewer and not in as bad shape as those at Camp Kitty. So why does RSPCA not act so decisively? You must feel very frustrated and unhappy about this especially as you are so concerned about the cats/local environment. My suggestion re RSPCA Australia is just that, please ignore if you feel it is of no use. If you do contact them it might be a good idea to cover Camp Kitty's history (v long and complicated) and get some of the other neighbours who have been affected to join you in your submission. All the best and congratulations on your persistence and for caring. Sincerely, Margot ps Steve Coleman has previously made controversial decisions about re-directing RSPCA funds to educating children through school programmes which meant less money for welfare and shutting down of Orange and Dubbo branches Blue Mountains branch got a reprieve but not sure if it is closed now. Dear Margot, thank you for the effort you have gone to to make a comment! You can comment online without a Facebook account. When you read the update you will see a heading below called Discussion. The very first part of that is where you can post a comment. It is not too obvious if you have not done it before, but I hope you find that comment box and now can comment without the bother of writing. I will take up your suggestions! To all the others that have made suggestions I hope to follow them up. Anyone who needs to contact me please do so via Facebook. I hope to follow up the RSPCA Watch site suggestion but I think it now comes under the Animal Liberation Front Victoria site. Re the suggestions re contacting Four Corners etc yes great idea, can anyone write to them for me? Also to any newspapers or other TV programmes. Regards, Keith ps photo shows part of Camp Kitty last winter (remember `no welfare issues'.)
