No South Bay in Rolling Meadows

The Issue

***** FOR ROLLING MEADOWS, IL RESIDENTS ONLY ***** Mission is to save the southeast corner of Kirchoff and Meadow in Rolling Meadows from more housing. The proposed South Bay project is not what the residents of Rolling Meadows see for the empty Doninicks property. It's expensive senior rentals, from $2800 to $6500 monthly, that isn't an affordable option for Rolling Meadows seniors. The residents, including seniors *over 65, would like retail and restaurant options. Kirchoff and Meadow was once the business, retail and restaurant hub for RM. We are asking the people who have been elected and trusted to do what's best for everyone. The Planning Commission voted 5-2 against this project on July 5 th with valid concerns. The city council city has a choice to keep these 11 acres zoned commercial. Or forever lose this valuable corner of downtown to a senior rental housing center. This decision is a permanent choice, once the structure is built, it's there for future generations of Rolling Meadows families. The downtown that Kimball Hill created with 3 shopping centers will be reduced to one. The Rolling Meadows residents that have signed this petition don't want to see anymore residential onlydevelopment along Kirchoff Road.
