Small businesses like shops, restaurants etc are the bedrock of our economy.  They pay full taxes (unlike Amazon) and employ millions of people.  Despite spending £1000s to be Covid secure and with no evidence that they are responsible for any viral spread they have been forced to close again at what is for many of them their busiest time of year in the pre-Christmas rush.  Many will not survive!  In response to this the UK government has offered them £1334!!!!!!  Last time it was £10000 for 3 months so this is barely 1 third of the previous grant!!!!!  This is just inadequate and could result in lots of our specialist shops (like the one in the photo) etc being lost forever.  They have rent, utilities, loan repayments and other bills to pay and have invested heavily in Christmas stock and this money for many will not even cover this.  They also do not have the resources of the big companies to pay for TV adverts to show that they are able to offer click and collect etc.  Please sign this to show our government how important these businesses are to you and to tell them that they need to do more!!!!  Remember that once these are lost they could be lost forever.
