Revive the Pontiac brand as a performance car division

Revive the Pontiac brand as a performance car division
The Issue
For decades, Pontiac stood as a powerful symbol of American automotive performance, bold design, and driving excitement. Models like the GTO, Firebird, Grand Prix, and Torrent created a unique emotional connection with millions of drivers around the world.
In 2010, during a difficult economic period, General Motors made the hard decision to discontinue the Pontiac brand. While this decision was understandable at the time, it left a lasting emotional gap for performance car enthusiasts and loyal Pontiac fans.
Today, the automotive industry is entering a new era. Electric propulsion, hybrid technology, advanced safety systems, and digital platforms allow manufacturers to create vehicles that are both environmentally responsible and emotionally exciting. Performance is no longer limited to combustion engines — it is now defined by instant electric torque, intelligent driving systems, and advanced aerodynamics.
We believe Pontiac could be revived not simply as a nostalgic brand, but as a modern performance-focused division, combining aggressive design, advanced powertrains (electric, hybrid, and high-performance combustion), and cutting-edge technology. Pontiac could become General Motors’ emotional performance flagship for a new generation of drivers.
Reviving Pontiac would also strengthen American engineering identity, create new jobs, support innovation, and re-engage a passionate global fan base that is already waiting for its return.
This petition respectfully calls upon General Motors leadership to study the feasibility of reviving Pontiac as a modern performance-oriented brand, adapted to today’s market and future mobility trends.
This initiative is driven by passion for automotive design, innovation, and the future of American performance vehicles.
