Revive bus access to the USask from Lawson Heights and Silverwood

Revive bus access to the USask from Lawson Heights and Silverwood
The Issue
In the last round of municipal elections we were promised better and more efficient public transit. We are at the beginning of the 2025-2026 school year and across the north of end Saskatoon there has only been steps backwards. In past years the 13 has offered students in Lawson Heights and Silverwood direct access to USask. The recent change from 13->17 has cut off these neighborhoods from efficient transportation. By cutting our bus and requiring an inefficient transfer commute times have increased by roughly 15-30 minutes on average.
No change will result in more cars on the road, meaning more competition for parking on campus and likely more expensive parking passes. Which will effect all USask students especially if the city realizes they can cut more bus to university access. This is a change that does not align with making Saskatoon a greener and cleaner city.
We are talking about the busiest bus in the north end. One that was consistently full before it even arrived at Lawson Terminal. An area that due to students driving in from Martenville and Warman needed more busses especially in the morning and evening that was cut down. The change marks a step in the wrong direction and should be reversed at minimum as soon as possible. Now is the time to act before winter sets in and to stand up for ourselves before changes like this come to other areas of the city.
