Revise Cape Coral rental property stay requirements from 7 to 30 day stays.

Revise Cape Coral rental property stay requirements from 7 to 30 day stays.
The Issue
Living in Cape Coral, my family and I have experienced firsthand the disruptive impact of short-term rentals in our neighborhood. Despite numerous complaints and calls to the police, the disturbances caused by unruly guests remain unaddressed. From noisy parties and loud music to yelling and other disrespectful behaviors, our once peaceful community has turned into a hub of chaos. Just the other day, a short-term rental guest yelled at my wife from their lanai, while others seemed to treat our neighborhood like a resort, children and parents included. Unfortunately, I'm not the only resident facing these issues.
Many of us have had our lives disrupted by the constant influx of different groups every week, who often treat our community with little respect. This pattern of behavior has reached a point where it is not only inconvenient but also unbearable. Our calls for help have been met with responses indicating a lack of intervention options due to the current rental regulations. It's clear that the existing requirement of a minimum 7-day stay for rental properties is insufficient to maintain the peace and integrity of our residential areas.
Therefore, I urge city officials to revise the current policy and increase the rental property requirement to a minimum 30-day stay. Extending the minimum stay duration will help reduce the frequency of disruptive transitions and encourage more responsible and neighborly behavior among guests. By doing so, we can reclaim our neighborhoods and restore the serene and respectful environment we all deserve.
Please join me in calling on the City of Cape Coral to implement this change for the sake of our community's peace and well-being. Sign this petition to support the revision and ensure that our voices are heard.
