Review Aberdeenshire's Decision on Grit Bins

The Issue

Living in Aberdeenshire, we understand the necessity of grit bins, especially during the harsh winter months. Our safety and mobility are significantly compromised due to the recent proposed removal of grit bins in our community. I am personally affected by this decision, as it creates a dangerous environment, limiting residents' ability to leave or gain access to their homes during icy conditions.

Aberdeenshire experiences severe winter weather, making roads and pavements treacherous. Grit bins are essential resources that enable communities to manage ice and snow, ensuring that roads and walkways are safe for both pedestrians and drivers. The absence of these bins poses significant risks of accidents and injuries, potentially isolating members of the community.

Numerous residents in areas like ours rely on these grit bins to maintain safety around neighborhoods, schools, and busy streets. Their removal not only poses safety hazards but also affects the daily routines of individuals who may already be vulnerable or have limited mobility.

Financial constraints or logistical issues should not compromise community safety. Instead, a detailed analysis and review of the current situation can lead to constructive solutions. We urge the concerned authorities to reconsider this decision and leave the grit bins across Aberdeenshire, ensuring our community's safety and accessibility in winter conditions.

Please sign this petition to request a review and keep the grit bins in our community. Together, we can make a difference and help prevent needless accidents and ensure the safety of Aberdeenshire residents.
