Reverse the Decision to Shut Down The Pickleball Courts in Thibodo Park Vista

Reverse the Decision to Shut Down The Pickleball Courts in Thibodo Park Vista
The Issue
As a regular user of the Thibodo Park Pickleball courts along with my family, neighbors, and friends, the decision to shut down these courts affects us deeply.
These courts are not just pieces of infrastructure; they are a crucial part of our community life in Vista, having been constantly used by residents of all ages to stay active and interact. The proposal to close these courts has sent shock waves through countless families like mine, seniors, and other community members who rely on them.
Keeping community input and feedback at the forefront, we urgently call on our elected officials to prevent the city from shutting down the Thibodo Park Pickleball courts. We urge our elected officials to reverse this hasty, costly decision that will negatively impact many lives.
The main cause of this decision to close the courts appears to be noise complaints, but we believe that more thoughtful, community-focused solutions can and should be explored regarding the noise issues related to the Thibodo Park Pickleball courts.
We propose implementing alternative solutions to address the noise concerns, such as installing taller sound-dampening fencing and incorporating dense vegetation barriers, rather than completely closing the courts.
Shutting down these courts is a decision that will negatively impact the community and also bear significant cost implications. This indicates a troubling lack of consideration and thoughtfulness in managing recreational spaces within our city. We are calling on the City Council to reverse this decision.
Furthermore, the courts close at 9:30 PM each day so there is no noise generated by the courts during quiet hours. The courts only have 5 houses within a 400 ft radius that are likely at all affected by the noise generated from the courts and we strongly believe that the noise issue can be mitigated with alternative solutions.
Let us stand together to save our valuable recreational space. We must act now before the final decision to shut down the courts is made and acted upon. Please, sign this petition to show your support.
