Reverse Brexit: Reinstate the Right to Free Movement in Europe

The Issue

Reflecting on my youth, I spent my best years—my late teens and most of my 20's— living and working across Europe. That period represents the golden era of my life, an era that I long to revisit. More importantly, I dreamt that one day, my children would have the chance to mirror this invaluable experience. However, with the spiraling developments following Brexit, the dreams for my family and I have been rudely disrupted. As a concerned and dissatisfied British citizen, I'm calling upon the UK government to revoke Brexit and reinstate our rights to live, work, and roam freely in any European country, exactly as it was before.

The referendum that led to Brexit in 2016 was marred by misleading campaigns and misinformation, leaving the British public deceived into making a choice that has now led us to feel imprisoned within our own nation. More than 1.2 million Brits previously lived in other EU nations before Brexit—advantages we no longer possess— and that is a blatant violation of our human rights (source: Office for National Statistics, UK).

Personal aspirations aside, the right to free movement is fundamental for every citizen. For the many British citizens who have familial, professional, or emotional ties across Europe, the decision to revoke these privileges is disheartening. It's a fight for our basic rights, regardless of any financial or political implications.

Let us stand together in this fight to reclaim our freedom, and to ensure a promising future for our next generations. I implore you to lend your support, sign this petition and urge the government to reverse Brexit, to restore free movement rights and break down the walls imprisoning us within our own land.
