Restore the Family-Friendly Traditions of The Texas Rangers' Six Shooters

Restore the Family-Friendly Traditions of The Texas Rangers' Six Shooters
The Issue
The Texas Rangers' Six Shooters, a beloved group that has been a part of our community in Arlington, TX for years, have undergone changes that many find unsettling. These changes include the introduction of dance routines other than the traditional Cotton Eye Joe and alterations to their iconic logo. This shift away from tradition has disappointed many fans and former participants who cherished these family-friendly customs.
The Six Shooters are more than just a cheerleading squad; they represent a long-standing tradition in our community. Many young girls aspire to be part of this group, drawn by its rich history and the sense of belonging it provides. By changing these traditions without consulting with or considering their fan base's feelings, we believe the management is disregarding an essential aspect of what makes this team so special.
We understand that progress is necessary and inevitable. However, we firmly believe that preserving certain traditions can coexist with modernization efforts without compromising either side's values or interests.
Therefore, we urge the management to restore our cherished traditions - bring back Cotton Eye Joe as the sole dance routine and reinstate our original logo - while continuing to innovate in ways that respect and honor our shared history.
Please sign this petition if you agree with us on preserving these important aspects of The Texas Rangers' Six Shooters identity for future generations to enjoy.
