Okta Verify used to remember your device for up to 90 days. In 2023, the University of Melbourne cruelly disabled this feature.

Hundreds of hours are lost each year due to Okta Verify, destroying productivity and promoting mobile phone addiction across the uni. Students with poor signal reception or low phone battery find it difficult to log in and study. When you're late to class, it takes minutes to go on your timetable and find your classroom. 

Our protests against Okta Verify have received overwhelming support from UniMelb staff and students. In just two days, we have handed out over 200 pamphlets, and received approval from over 1000 students. Our TikTok received 18,000 likes, and our r/unimelb post received 1200 upvotes. The community expressed widespread solidarity with our campaign. 

We ask UniMelb to re-enable Remember My Device for Okta Verify.
