Subject: Urgent Appeal for Reinstatement of "Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers Ltd." Identity
Dear Chairman & Managing Director,
We, the undersigned former employees of Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers Ltd. (MCFL), together with the broader community of Mangalore and Karnataka, write to express our profound concern regarding the recent corporate rebranding at the Mangalore facility.
The complete removal of the "Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers Ltd." name following the merger has caused deep distress and a sense of loss. For decades, the MCFL name was more than a corporate title; it represented a legacy of local industry, community pride, and trust. It is a vital part of Mangalore's industrial heritage and identity.
We respectfully submit that this name carries immense nostalgic value and enduring brand equity within Karnataka. Its reinstatement, even in a hybrid form would honor this legacy, preserve local goodwill, and demonstrate respect for the workforce and community that built the facility's reputation.
We earnestly request your immediate intervention to reinstate the "Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers Ltd." identifier within the operational and corporate identity of the Mangalore unit.
Sincerely,
On behalf of over 440 former MCFL employees and the concerned community,
