Respect the Queens - LGBTQIA+ Resistance

The Issue

Our nation has been at a crossroads, facing a cumulative and unprecedented rise in neofascism and white supremacy. It is our collective responsibility to ensure that such ideologies never gain the power to dictate our country, policies, and quality of life, thus the future of our communities. As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I feel it's our duty to resist and defend against these oppressive forces.

Research shows that movements need the participation of 3.5% of the population to succeed in pushing back against authoritarian regimes (12,250,000 people). We have the potential power of 31.7 million queer individuals in the United States alone. If we can organize at least half of this vibrant and diverse community, we can tower over this 3.5% threshold with an extraordinary 15,850,000 people.

As Trump's administration works tirelessly to undermine our community's resilience, power, energy, confidence, solidarity, and health, we must acknowledge the intentionality behind these efforts. Historically, the Queer community is one of the only communities capable of putting an end to widespread systemic violence. It's our responsibility, especially as (white) queer and trans people, to show up for our ancestors, ourselves, and each other.

By organizing a massive, focused, and structured mobilization effort, we can halt the destructive trajectory of Trump's administration. We have the numbers, passion, creativity, and ability to create real structural change. Together, we can safeguard our rights and the integrity of our democracy.

This is a call to action. Join us in organizing a powerful collective movement within the LGBTQIA+ community. Let us stand together to create a system that prioritizes equality, justice, and freedom for the most underserved and disappeared communities.

Sign this petition to become a part of the change we won't survive without.

For many of us who can't afford to miss work, support systems will be in place to replenish the lost income from participating in this effort. Dates and Details TBD.
