We are a community of 78 residents in Noosa Glades, Tewantin, QLD, who live with the constant fear of flooding because the watercourse between our homes and the river has been poorly maintained. This lack of care and attention from the Noosa Council has put our homes at risk, threatening not only our properties but our peace of mind. As concerned residents, many of us have witnessed the water levels rise worryingly high during heavy rains, often leading to water pooling around our homes and threatening to spill over into our living spaces.

The watercourse serves as a vital drainage system that protects our neighborhood from flooding. However, without regular cleaning and maintenance, it is clogged with debris, which severely hampers its capacity to manage stormwater effectively. Our safety and the security of our homes should not be compromised by the council’s inaction. To prevent the devastating effects of flooding, it is imperative that the Noosa Council act immediately.

We request the Noosa Council to prioritize our safety and conduct thorough and regular cleaning of the watercourse. By doing so, they will ensure the functionality of this essential water management system that protects Noosa Glades residents.
