Replace S Hardsaw Rd for Safety and Health Assurance.

Replace S Hardsaw Rd for Safety and Health Assurance.
The Issue
The disaster that is S Hardsaw Rd between Nebgen Rd & Colbern Rd in Unincorporated Jackson County, poses a serious safety issues not just for drivers but also health concerns due to the "experimental" road laid in July 2023. [We were the only road to get this treatment in the area as well, where every road around us was either oil & chet or asphalt.] This project took 3.5 weeks—not because of weather but because it was left as an afterthought—and now, less than a year later, the road is already falling apart.
From tracks from vehicles that laid the road, pieces chipping off, massive dips where the culverts were "replaced" also last year in June/July, potholes that are bigger than my children, new erosion of our road, issues with the driveway entryways all up & down our road as well, and damage leading to the bridge.
This doesn't even get into the annual flooding we get or the lack of care for the side of the roads to prevent flooding. The damage done several years prior during the building of the wetlands/marsh. It doesn't cover the tar damage to the vehicles of everyone that traveled this road. The fact our road for the last decade is nothing but oil and rocks on top of oil and rocks. The intersections are no better.
This has affected my family and the safety of my children as well as our neighborhood. From this powder they laid down, all of my children needed rescue help for struggling to breathe through Children's Mercy Urgent Care for several months. Two of which now have rescue inhalers, that had never been needed prior to this. The road is dangerous that even in winter, we have been told by our School District it is too dangerous to come get your kids multiple times throughout the last 11 years.
We demand immediate action to repair and properly maintain S Hardsaw Rd and its intersections to ensure the safety and health of all residents and commuters. Sign this petition to urge Jackson County officials to address these critical issues now!
