In 2012, Congress quietly passed a law that overturned decades of protection for the American people.  Passing of the Smith-Mundt Modernization Act, hidden within the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), made it legal for the U.S. government to disseminate propaganda to its own citizens.

This is not only unethical—it is unconstitutional. Our Republic is built on informed consent, not manipulation.

We demand:

Full repeal of the Smith-Mundt Modernization Act of 2012.
The introduction and passage of the Truth in Media and Accountability Act, a law that:

Requires all media to report only verifiable facts.
Holds news organizations and reporters criminally and civilly accountable for intentional false reporting, defamation, and character assassination.
Prevents future Congresses from repealing or watering down this law without supermajority consent.
Let’s restore trust. Let’s protect truth. Let’s take back our media.
