Millworth Lane in Shinfield is home to: the local tennis club, football club, play park and recreational grounds. Hundreds of children, adults, the local infant and junior school use the facilities weekly for leisurely hobbies and competitive matches representing their clubs, schools and Berkshire County. 

However, the current state of the road is filled with hazards which are preventing people from getting involved in sporting activities and in their local community events. Millworth Lane is riddled with potholes and raised iron works, which not only threaten the safety of vehicles but also limit the accessibility of our facilities for both children and adults.

Those who visit these clubs and parks regularly are deeply affected by the poor conditions of Millworth Lane, having to pay hundreds of pounds in car repairs. Many parents have moved clubs or taken their children out of sport completely, due to their concerns about the damage to their cars as they drive their children to and from activities.
