Repeal: The National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act of 1986

The Issue

Dear President Obama, Speaker Boehner, Senator Reid,

I was raised to believe that one person can make a difference.

I am the parent of a beautiful little girl who was adopted from Ethiopia. She was diagnosed on the autism apectrum when she was 18 months old. She just turned 5. The CDC announced yesterday that the rate of Autism is now 1 in 68 children.

My daughter has had most of her vaccines. I am deeply concerned about the effects on her immediate and longerm health if we finish administering the recommended number of vaccines by the Center for Disease Control which are mandatory for her entrance into Kindergarten. I am concerned about the number of vaccines now required and the ingredients contained in vaccines.

Parents like myself, who care about their children, research the safest car to buy and as a result of that research, purchase cars with airbags. Car manufacturers have an incentive to develop the safest car for the American market. That incentive is twofold, as both open competition and legal recourse through state tort law ensure that the safest product is brought to market.

Cars, like vaccines, may be necessary however, the American public should be entitled to the "airbag" vaccine. Just as the auto industry is held to the very highest stndard of safety, so should the vaccine industry. Vaccines have inherent risks which could be significantly reduced by allowing an open and competitve market. Vaccines should contain the safest ingredients with the lowest neurological and biological impact. In short, only the highest quality vaccines should be available.

Now is the time to come together to repeal the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act of 1986. Since there is no legal recourse against vaccine manufacturers using state tort laws, there is no incentive for vaccine manufacturers to make safer products. The families that are the casualties from this "Greater Good Act" have little recourse. The National Childhood Injury Act may have been enacted with the best intentions, but in reality, the families who are the casualties from vaccine injuries have universally reported that the process was an extremely hostile one-even when they have won their cases (which is rare).

We, the undersigned, petition the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate to immediately repeal the 1986 National Child Vaccine Injury Act.

We, the undersigned, will boycott U.S. manufactured vaccines that contain aluminum adjuvants until a safer alternative is brought to market.

We, the undersigned, will boycott U.S. manufactured vaccines, that are not completely necessary such as the Hepatitis B vaccine injected into newborns and Gardasil injected into girls beginning at age 13.

We, the undersigned, will boycott U.S. manufactured combination shots, knowing that single vaccines have been developed. We demand separate shot availability for measles, mumps and rubella. We demand separate shot availability for diptheria, pertussis and tetanus.

We, the undersigned, will boycott the excessive U.S. Center for Disease Control schedule of 49 doses of 14 different vaccines by age 6 and 70 doses of 16 vaccines by age 18. To date, there has not been one single large scale scientific study of the neurological impact and biological impact and the cumulative effects of adjuvants and shot ingredients in children and adolescents.

We, the undersigned, affirm that it is the parent's right to decide if a vaccine should be administered to their child.

We, the undersigned, believe that one shot does not fit every child and that exemptions to vaccines are a medical, philosophical and religious right.

It is time to Repeal the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act of 1986 which protects vaccine manufacurers. It is time to enact new legislation that will make children's health the number one priority above the profits of large pharmaceutical corporations.
