Walking through my neighbourhood in Nottinghamshire, I can't help but feel a sense of frustration and embarrassment. For over a year now, we've had to endure the sight of torn, dirty, and tatty flags hanging from our lampposts. These flags, intended as symbols of pride and patriotism, have instead become eyesores, casting a shadow on our beautiful community.

These flags are not a reflection of the pride and love we have for our county or our nation; rather, they convey neglect. Our streets, once vibrant and welcoming, now appear dirty and untidy, diminishing our community's spirit. This is not the image we want to present to our residents or to visitors alike.

The solution to this issue is straightforward. We urge Nottinghamshire County Council to take immediate action to replace or remove these damaged flags. By doing so, they will not only restore the aesthetic appeal of our streets but also reinvigorate community pride. It's time to address this issue before it reflects poor governance and neglect.

Fixing this problem is achievable. Other local councils have managed to maintain their public displays effectively; we can do the same.
