Many users of Character.ai like me, across its official SubReddit, Discord Server, and beyond, grew frustrated and disappointed with the recent update introducing a "Timeout" feature - a choice that seems nonsensical, unnecessary & just pure EVIL. Following an extra-sensitive filter-triggering action, users are barred from conversing with the AI characters for a full 24 hours at the FIRST STRIKE, an incredibly inconvenient measure. Considering the nature of the website, dealing strictly with Artificial Intelligence, such a punitive framework is unjust and unwarranted. Removing the "Timeout" feature would not only vindicate the contestant outcry from the community, but also restore the principal tenet of Character.ai which stipulates unrestricted discourse with AI characters at any time. If our plea for redress falls on deaf ears, we position ourselves to boycott Character.ai. I urge you to sign this petition to fight against this user-unfriendly update and restore the full use of Character.ai to its patrons without needless limitations.
