Slam Frank, an off broadway satirical hip hop musical which reimagined Anne Frank as a pansexual Latina with a nonbinary partner and a neurodiverse family. It was created by Andrew Fox and Joel Sinensky after a twitter thread went viral in 2022 regarding Anne Frank’s “white privilege.” Even if it’s satire, it still is not funny. Not only is this wildly inappropriate, historically and factually inaccurate, and flat out offensive, but this also can perpetuate more misinformation, lies, and hate.
