Remove Minecraft Banning on Java Edition and Bedrock Edition

The Issue

Minecraft has been a game that is a creative sandbox that was created by Mojang AB in 2009 as a way to establish a new form of communication. For the past 12 years, Minecraft Java Edititon has been used as a way to hang out with friends, family, and others. Recently however as of 1.19.1, Microsoft has been adding a system of censorship for the protection of "other users" but due to the flawed nature of text chat and the lack of context, this could leads to millions of players and decades of hard work being destroyed because of a baseless report system that could damage Minecraft as a whole

The goal of this campaign is to present a issue of censorship and lack of privacy for owners of servers, realms, and communities of Minecraft both in the Java and Bedrock version (Ps4, Ps5, Xbox 1, Xbox X/S, Switch, Windows 10, and Mobile). These problems have lead to censored users, banned accounts, and could lead to an era of complex issues for Minecraft as a game and as a community.

What Minecraft needs;

  • The removal of the reporting system. This system leads to a lack of privacy for the user as well as a lack of independence for the server owners.
  • More support for server hosting platforms like Apex, and MC Pro-Hosting. Microsoft should create a system to help server and server hosting platforms that do not lead to this for of censorship.
  • Access to private servers and Single player worlds for banned users. The report system could lead to a potential class action lawsuit for financial virtual fraud.

If we are able to succeed, we can make Minecraft a 100 year game. This game is special to millions of people around the world and has become a beacon of hope for people who can't express themselves. Removing this system will allow for Minecraft to grow as a community and allow for Mojang to continue to develop the game that we love and that we can enjoy together.
