We, the undersigned, respectfully request the removal of the band BUNKFACE from the lineup alongside Green Day during their performance in Malaysia. While we understand the importance of diverse musical acts, we believe that BUNKFACE does not embody the true spirit and values of punk rock, and as such, their presence at this event would be counterproductive to the ethos of the punk rock community.

Punk rock has long been a genre associated with rebellion, authenticity, and defiance against the status quo. It has inspired countless individuals to question authority, embrace individuality, and challenge societal norms. Green Day, as one of the most iconic and influential punk bands in history, has consistently stayed true to these principles in both their music and their public statements. The band’s authenticity and dedication to the punk rock spirit have earned them the respect of fans worldwide.

However, we believe that BUNKFACE’s musical style, public image, and overall approach to the punk genre do not align with the core values that punk rock stands for. Their sound and message do not represent the raw, unapologetic energy that defines punk, and their presence on a stage shared with Green Day risks diluting the essence of punk rock, a genre that has always been about challenging the mainstream and staying true to one’s roots.

As fans and supporters of the punk rock community, we ask that you reconsider their participation in this event, as we believe it would be more fitting to feature acts that genuinely embody the spirit of punk rock.
