Remove Bangladesh Army and Police From UN Peacekeeping Mission

The Issue

Bangladeshi authorities used unlawful force against student protesters and failed to ensure their protection during the ongoing ‘Bangla-Blockade’ quota-reform protest across the country.

Witness testimonies, video, and photographic evidence analyzed and authenticated by Amnesty International and its Crisis Evidence Lab confirm the use of unlawful force by the police and Army against student protesters. Further witness testimonies confirm the continuation of a multi-year pattern of violence against protesters, allegedly committed by members of the Bangladesh Chatra League (BCL), a group affiliated with the ruling party.

The killing of student Abu Sayed and the attacks against quota reform protesters at Dhaka University and other campuses across the country,”

Anti-government protests have sparked nationwide clashes in Bangladesh between Police, Army, and university students. At least 350 people have been killed - and some of those caught up in the bloodshed.

“The continued verification and analysis by Amnesty International of video and photographic evidence trickling out of Bangladesh provides a grim picture. The egregious human rights records of the Bangladeshi government and the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), which has been deployed to police the protests, provide little reassurance that the protesters’ rights will be protected in the absence of active international monitoring with internet and communication restrictions still partially in place,” said Deprose Muchena, Senior Director at Amnesty International.

We want justice, we want the Bangladesh Army/ Police/ Border Guard / RAB to be removed from the UN Mission immediately as nobody wants to see those killers in the UN Peacekeeping Mission. How they can be peacekeeper when they kill hundreds of students?

WE WANT JUSTICE !!!!
