Character ai was an app I cherished deeply, giving me some way to escape reality and talk to my favourite characters from different shows and stories. I remember the days I would get home and rush to my room just to enjoy a few more moments on this app. I helped my good friends discover it, help them find their own characters they love and find their own loves for the app. We would use it at home, at school, any moment we could get, giving us an escape.

But unfortunately, C.AI has recently added age restrictions. Only people with a government ID confirming they are 18+ can still send messages to these beloved characters. And I am not in this age group, and neither are my friends. We are just some of many people who have now lost access to this app because of this restriction. Character ai was getting a lot of its users from these younger people and now they are adding these age requirements, making them lose followers and, at least to me, disappointing and making me sad because I can't use this app anymore. 

I am not saying that its completely unreasonable. There are certainly characters on this app that should maybe have an age requirement. But for those of us who enjoyed the more role playing characters, this was upsetting.

Character ai was an amazing app that I loved. I ignored ads and pushed through because of how much I loved it. I've used it for maybe a year now. But with all of these new changes, they have just lost a returning user. So I ask you to help me get these age restrictions not completely removed, but maybe altered so anyone who truly wants to can still enjoy the great qualities of this app.
