It was a Saturday night when I first watched Empire Records. The next morning, I watched it twice more and again on Monday. Ever since the first time, the movie has captivated me - its plot, set design, script, characters and even the actors themselves have left a mark in my life. This passion isn't unique to me; there are countless others who have resonated with this film for decades.

However, what we've seen is not the complete picture. The version of Empire Records that we know and love underwent significant editing before its release, yes I do argue that the film is positively perfect - but fact that leaves us yearning for more. There are different versions with extra scenes and such, but there are so many holes left in die hard fans relationship with the movie. Like Toby Maguire's character being cut, the movie originally being two days long and the fact that Corey had a sister. There are 40 mins of unreleased footage.

We believe that releasing the original uncut version of Empire Records would satisfy our curiosity but also provide valuable insights into how this beloved movie evolved over time and has continued to do so. We want to see as many scenes as possible - those moments that didn't make it to the final cut but were part of the initial vision.

This is not just about nostalgia or fan service; it's about preserving and understanding film history in its entirety. By releasing this unedited version, we can better appreciate how storytelling in cinema changes over time and how different elements come together to create a final product. The film might have not gotten the rightful recognition in it's time, but it's simply a cult classic beloved by many, including me.
