Release All Jeffrey Epstein-Related Records Held by New York City and New York State

The Issue

Dear Mayor of New York City Zohran Kwame Mamdani , Governor of New York State Kathy Hochul, New York Attorney General, NYPD Commissioner, and all relevant city and state agencies,

We, the undersigned, respectfully ask that New York City and the State of New York release all records in your possession related to Jeffrey Epstein, his associates, his criminal activities, and his death. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • NYPD and New York State Police investigative files, reports, and evidence
  • Court documents, exhibits, and any sealed materials from New York State cases
  • Records from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and the former Department of Correction concerning Epstein’s time in custody and his death
  • Property, financial, and permitting records connected to Epstein’s New York residences
  • Correspondence or communications involving Epstein or his representatives with city or state officials
  • Any other documents, photographs, videos, or materials held by city or state agencies

Jeffrey Epstein committed horrific crimes against dozens of young women and girls, many of them in New York. His properties here were central to his trafficking network. While some federal documents have been made public, large amounts of information held by our city and state remain sealed or unreleased.

New York’s Freedom of Information Law exists to ensure government transparency. The public has a right to understand the full scope of what happened in our state, who may have enabled it, and how our institutions responded.

Releasing these records—with careful redactions only where absolutely required to protect victims’ privacy—would:

  • Honor the courage of survivors by bringing more truth to light
  • Restore public trust in our government and law enforcement
  • Help ensure that failures in oversight are never repeated
  • Allow journalists, researchers, and citizens to piece together a complete picture of this tragedy

We are not asking for anything beyond what open-government laws already allow. We simply ask that our leaders choose transparency over secrecy in one of the most important cases in New York’s recent history.

Please release every Epstein-related record you hold. The people of New York—and the survivors who deserve justice—ask for nothing less.Thank you for considering this request.
