We, the residents and supporters of Kimbolton, strongly oppose the proposed development of nearly 200 new homes off Stow Road.

Kimbolton is not just any village — it is a place of historic value, cultural identity, and unique rural charm that must be protected.

This proposed estate poses a serious threat to:

• The distinct character of our village, which is traditionally British and proudly preserved through generations.

• The heritage and architectural beauty that defines Kimbolton and sets it apart from generic housing developments.

• The peaceful way of life that residents cherish — something that cannot be replaced once lost.

• Our local primary school, which is very small and would struggle to cope with a sudden influx of new families.

• The overall value and identity of the area, which would be degraded by overdevelopment and urban sprawl.

Kimbolton is a village — not a suburb. We have the right to protect our heritage, and that is done by preserving the character of places like this. Some areas must remain distinctly British, retaining their historic layout, cultural atmosphere, and rural identity.

We are not against development altogether — but this plan is inappropriate in scale, insensitive in design, and completely out of character with our community.

We call on Huntingdonshire District Council to reject the Stow Road development and stand with residents in defending Kimbolton’s legacy.
