Reject the fishing platform at Quinns Rocks Beach
The issue
Quinns Rocks Beach is a cherished sanctuary within our community - an unspoiled, natural coastline that offers serenity and space for families, swimmers, and residents to enjoy the ocean in peace. As community members who deeply value the environmental, recreational, and aesthetic qualities of this unique beach, we are deeply alarmed by the City of Wanneroo's proposal to construct a fishing platform. We have not received any information regarding this proposal and have had no say.
The proposed fishing platform threatens to irrevocably transform our beloved beachfront. It raises critical safety concerns for swimmers and beachgoers, as fishing activities can lead to hazardous conditions for those enjoying the water. Overcrowding is another major issue; introducing such a structure would attract a high volume of anglers and tourists, significantly altering the harmonious atmosphere that we have worked so hard to preserve. There is already an issue with car parking limitations and we as local are dealing with large amounts of vehicle parking on our verges.
Moreover, we fear the irreversible loss of the unique lifestyle that Quinns Rocks Beach provides. By opposing this construction, we are defending the peaceful, community-focused environment that distinguishes Quinns Rocks from other developed areas.
We understand the need for improvements and developments, but they should not come at the expense of our community's treasured location. We propose that any developments consider alternative solutions that do not compromise safety, peace, and the natural beauty of Quinns Rocks Beach. A meeting together with the council and community is critical finalising a better solution.
Join us in our fight to protect Quinns Rocks Beach from this proposed development. We need to send a clear message to the City of Wanneroo that our community's values and lifestyle mean more than an unnecessary platform. We urge you to sign this petition to preserve the tranquil and community-oriented nature of Quinns Rocks Beach for future generations.
