The Homeschool Association of Trinidad and Tobago (HATT) laments the appalling Home Schooling Policy, which is contained in The Ministry of Education’s National Education Policy 2023 - 2027. It is noteworthy that the draft of this policy was labelled as among the "worst ever seen" by our international consultant.

The policy as a whole reflects a paucity of research on homeschooling and a lack of understanding of homeschooling, international law, and the rights of parents among others. If adopted, Trinidad and Tobago will face a disaster in the sphere of home education which would put us at a disadvantage when compared with other developing nations, including those in the Caribbean. 

I invite you to join with HATT to stop this appalling, undemocratic, and exceedingly onerous policy from coming into effect. The future of your children, your religious and philosophical beliefs, and the fate of our nation now hang in the balance if you do not act now.
