Whatnot has officially removed its gifting feature as of May 12, 2025. This decision has sparked significant concern within the community.

The gifting feature allowed users to send items to others during livestreams or through the marketplace, fostering a sense of community and support among users. According to Whatnot, the feature was removed due to low usage. However, many users have expressed that it played a crucial role in community-building activities, such as supporting sellers during milestones and enhancing engagement during events like raids etc

In response to the removal, a petition has been initiated to urge Whatnot to reconsider its decision and reinstate the gifting feature. The petition emphasizes the feature’s importance in maintaining the platform’s community spirit and suggests improvements to increase its utilization rather than eliminating it.
