Reinstate Scotland to Gibraltar Flights

The Issue

Since the COVID-19 pandemic, the return of flights from Scotland to Gibraltar has not become a reality. easyJet used to operate weekly flights from Edinburgh to Gibraltar, offering our only direct route from Scotland to Gibraltar. Unfortunately, this service has yet to be reinstated, which has left a significant void for many travelers who rely on this connection.

Currently, we are forced to undertake lengthy and expensive journeys just to reach Gibraltar. Travelers from Scotland have to go through the inconvenience of traveling from Glasgow to Manchester or London to catch direct flights to Gibraltar. Alternatively, we must endure the hassle of flying from Glasgow to Malaga, followed by a two to three-hour coach ride to Gibraltar. This journey is not only time-consuming but also incurs substantial costs, including high prices for the coach journey and heavy tolls for family and friends who have to pick us up from the airport. Not to mention having to be stamped in and out of Spain due to having to cross into Spain and back into Gibraltar back into Spain and back out at the Spanish airport when leaving.

This situation is not only inconvenient but also financially burdensome. Many travelers from Scotland depend on the Edinburgh to Gibraltar route for family visits, business trips, and leisure. The absence of this route affects both local economies by limiting tourism and hindering personal relationships.

We urge easyJet and other airlines to consider reinstating the direct flights from Scotland to Gibraltar. By doing so, they would provide essential connectivity that numerous travelers have come to rely on pre-pandemic. Bringing back this flight route would enable easier travel and support the community's social and economic connections.

Help us make travel between Scotland and Gibraltar seamless once again. Support our cause for the return of the Edinburgh to Gibraltar flights. Sign this petition and let your voice be heard!
