Reinstate Mark Bell as Technical Director of CRYSA
The Issue
On June 1, 2026, one hour before the start of the AGM, parents received an email informing them that Mark Bell had been terminated from his position as Technical Director of CRYSA and that the Association wished him well in his future endeavours.
As a result, the AGM was well attended by parents, coaches and players who sought answers and transparency around this shocking news. Those answers were not provided. The Executive Director of CRYSA (staff position) took full responsibility for the decision and refused to discuss the matter further.
We believe this decision was unjust, lacking in transparency, and perhaps indicative of deeper organizational issues within the Association. As stakeholders in our children’s athletic and personal development, we demand clarity on the reasons behind his removal and an immediate reevaluation of this decision.
We who sign this petition are calling upon the Youth Soccer Association Board and staff to not only reinstate the Technical Director but also to commit to meaningful organizational reform. Our goal is to ensure transparent decision-making processes, accountability, and an environment that prioritizes the players' best interests. The association must address its current operational shortcomings to restore trust and secure a positive experience for all youth athletes under its care.
Mark has played a pivotal role in our community, inspiring not just skill development, but fostering a genuine love for soccer. His approach goes beyond winning games; it builds character, inspires dreams, and teaches life skills. Removing such an influential figure without a valid, communicated reason puts at risk the very essence of what the youth soccer program stands for.
