Anonymous impact story:
I get the obligatory question, "So, what do you want for Christmas?!" I answer, "A job." It's usually a mood killer. The person asking forgot about my unemployment status & now they feel awkward talking about gift giving and elaborate holiday plans when
it's obvious I'm struggling & have limited funds. They don't want to ask how the job search is going because last time they asked they endured a 20 minute rant about Al, ghosting, fake job posts and empty platitudes.
I feel bad for making them uncomfortable, but the truth
is this is my reality.
Most don’t ask how the job search is going because last time they asked they endured a 20 minute rant about Al, ghosting, fake job posts and empty platitudes.
I feel bad for making them uncomfortable, but the truth is, this is my reality. I have my good days & bad. And yes, I'm tired. Some days I laugh at the rejection letters and other days I too am spewing a long list of f bombs... especially when the role is one I was really excited about.
But I keep applying and tightly grasping on to what little hope I have. Happy Holidays!
