For the past two years, my son and I have been in survival mode. Losing our home, going through multiple layoffs, and selling my car just to stay afloat have taken a toll on us. I've tried every resource I can think of—211, shelters—but there's little to no availability because so many people are struggling right now. I've overdrafted my account just to keep us in temporary housing, and now, after December 27th, I don't know where we'll go.
