It shouldn't be normal and I'm going to say it. It shouldn't be normal for people to be unintentionally unemployed for MONTHS. It shouldn't be normal for it take people three, six, nine, 12, or 18 months to find a job. It shouldn't be normal to have more than three rounds of interviews for entry and mid-level positions. It shouldn't be normal to have to fill out applications, give writing samples, take assessments, sometimes multiple, go through 5 rounds of interviews and still be rejected. It shouldn't be normal for people to have to prematurely withdrawal from their 401ks to survive because their unemployment ran out or they don't qualify. It shouldn't be normal for people with multiple degrees to have to apply for food service and retail jobs because they can't find jobs in their field only to be told be rejected because they’re overqualified.
