Reform the Personal Independence Payment (PIP) Assessment Process
The Issue
Mine is a voice among many who have been unjustly refused Personal Independence Payment (PIP) and put through a process that is demeaning and stressful . I am living with Multiple Sclerosis, and despite my genuine need for support, I was denied PIP and the help/ support this would bring. The decision was not based on facts or evidence but on the assessor's assumptions. This is not just my story; it mirrors the experiences of countless others in our community.
The current assessment process for PIP is flawed and does not adequately consider the unique needs and circumstances of individuals with disabilities. According to a report by Disability Rights UK, many people are being unfairly denied benefits due to inaccurate assessments (Disability Rights UK, 2018).
We are calling for an overhaul of this system. We demand that assessments be conducted fairly, transparently, and based on factual evidence rather than assumptions. It's time to put humanity back into our welfare system.
Please sign this petition if you believe in justice and equality for all citizens regardless of their physical condition or disability status. Together we can make a difference!
