Reform social media rules for Cosmetic Tattooists

Reform social media rules for Cosmetic Tattooists
The issue
As a cosmetic tattooist, I have been heavily shadow banned on all social media platforms for trying to share my work. My work involves 3D areola tattoo restoration, a deeply meaningful service that I provide to women and some men who have survived breast cancer. This art is not just about aesthetics; it's often the final step in helping survivors to reclaim their bodies and restore their sense of hope and dignity.
Every day, cosmetic tattooists like myself are creating miracles. We are artists who use our skills to help individuals feel complete again after the trauma of cancer. Unfortunately, platforms are restricting our ability to share these transformations due to strict community guidelines that equate our images with nudity. These rules fail to recognize the importance and powerful impact of our work, which goes far beyond mere aesthetics.
In a world where social media is rampant with hate speech, violence, and over-sexualization, it is disheartening to find these positive messages of support and healing being stifled. It is imperative that the platforms we rely on for spreading awareness and hope revise their policies to reflect the profound difference between objectionable content and art that aims to heal.
We call on social media companies to reevaluate their community guidelines. Specifically, we urge them to allow cosmetic tattooists to share images of 3D areola tattoo restorations without fear of censorship. This change would ensure that breast cancer survivors know these services exist when they are ready.
Let us break the silence and clear the shadows cast on our healing art. Please join me in urging social media platforms to recognize the invaluable role cosmetic tattooing plays in the healing journey of cancer survivors.
Sign this petition to support the reform of social media rules to allow us to continue providing hope and dignity to those who truly need it.
