We have 4 children and two adults. We pay extra to have 2 general waste bins which after 7 days are at max capacity let along pushing to 14 days. We have always been regular recycling participants along with segregating cans for a family member to collect. We urge the council to revert back to the 7 day collection please.

That sitting in the bin for 2 weeks is going to smell to high heaven just imagine going on a walk on a nice hot summers evening on bin night.

Meaning it adds cost without reducing landfill volume at all per household! No option for a bigger bin for safe storage and you need to be "eligible" for the 'SCP'.
With the cost of meat and groceries today, most families can't afford to waste food. Every meal is planned, leftovers are used, and very little ends up in the bin. What food scraps can be composted are often put to good use in backyard compost bins or fed to family pets. The reality is that people are already doing everything they can to reduce food waste because they have to, not because they're being told to, so the assumption that 50% of weekly household waste is "food organics" is simply a joke.
The rebate scheme council points to as support is capped at $10,000/year for the entire shire and is funded out of residents own waste charges not council generosity, just their (our) own money handed back selectively until the pool runs dry!
