I am calling on the Government to reduce fuel duty by 50% to ease the growing financial pressure on families and businesses across the UK.

The current 5p “freeze” is simply not enough and feels completely out of touch with the reality people are facing. At a time when the cost of living is already high, fuel prices continue to impact everyday life — from commuting to basic goods and services.

It has been widely reported that the Government has benefited from an estimated £8 billion windfall due to rising fuel prices. Instead of holding onto this extra revenue, I believe it should be used to support the public.

A meaningful reduction in fuel duty would provide immediate relief, boost the economy, and help restore fairness.
