Rebuild or extend the Kingaroy skatepark

Rebuild or extend the Kingaroy skatepark
The issue
The Kingaroy skatepark has always been a beloved spot for the local community, providing a place for kids, teenagers and adults to gather, exercise, and hone their skills. However, over time, it has become increasingly clear that the park does not accommodate all individuals equally. In its current state, the facility is largely designed with BMX riders in mind, featuring ramps that are mostly at least 4 feet high. While this is fantastic for bike enthusiasts, it’s not ideal for young skaters or children learning the ropes of skateboarding or scootering.
This design means the park lacks facilities that can support a range of users, particularly younger children who might be intimidated by the sheer height of the ramps, Skaters especially those seeking more diversity in ramps or street style runs.
The solution is simple but impactful: rebuild or extend the Kingaroy skatepark to include a wider variety of ramps, street style runs and features that cater to different age groups and skill levels. Smaller ramps would offer a safer and more encouraging environment for children and beginners. Additionally, incorporating new challenges and innovative designs could attract a broader audience, providing an inclusive space where everyone can thrive.
Investing in this project would not only enhance the recreational facilities available to the community but also foster an environment of creativity and physical health that is accessible to all, including young children and beginner skaters. It ensures that the skatepark remains a hub for socializing, learning, and engaging in healthy activities, serving as a beacon for community interaction and growth.
Every citizen of Kingaroy deserves access to a skatepark that reflects the spirit of our community—an open, safe, and inviting place for all its members. Please sign this petition to urge the local council to fund the reconstruction or expansion of Kingaroy skatepark and meet the diverse needs of our community.
