Re: Collective Concern Regarding the Departure of the Landlord at The Woodlands Edge

Dear Sir/Madam,

We, the undersigned regular patrons of The Woodlands Edge, are writing to express our deep concern and disappointment at the recent departure of the pub’s landlord. His removal has left many of us shocked and saddened, and we feel compelled to highlight the significant and specific contributions he made to both the establishment and the wider community.

Over the years, this landlord consistently went above and beyond in his role. He revitalised The Woodlands Edge by improving service standards, restoring the interior, and maintaining a warm, clean, and inviting atmosphere. He was instrumental in increasing footfall and building a loyal base of regulars—not just through excellent day-to-day hospitality, but by organising community quiz nights, charity events, holiday celebrations, and live music that brought people of all ages together.

He also had a strong personal rapport with customers. Many of us felt known and valued under his stewardship. New visitors were always welcomed warmly, and long-standing regulars knew they could rely on him for a friendly chat, a familiar face, and a sense of belonging. He cultivated an environment where customers felt safe, respected, and appreciated—something increasingly rare in today’s hospitality landscape.

Moreover, his leadership was key to the pub’s positive reputation in the wider community. Local sports teams, social clubs, and charity groups all benefited from his support, as he regularly offered space for meetings, hosted fundraisers, and championed local causes.

While we understand that staffing decisions are often complex and may involve considerations we are not privy to, we believe his contribution to the pub's success and community role is undeniable. It is difficult to imagine The Woodlands Edge without his steady and passionate presence at the helm.

We respectfully request that Greene King acknowledges the extraordinary impact this individual had on our community, and considers the importance of preserving the spirit and character he worked so hard to foster.

Yours faithfully,
The Undersigned Customers of The Woodlands Edge
