A young boy from Whyalla, South Australia has been in the care of a babysitter for the last three years. His mother and father are both unfit to raise him. The father has guardianship of the young boy, but has abandoned him under the care of the babysitter. He is of age to attend kindy now, but unfortunately, the father avoids signing the paperwork to allow him to attend kindergarten. The babysitter cares for the child out of her own pension, and has no legal rights to him. She has tried going to the police, child abuse hotline, child protection, and even Eddie Hughes. Unfortunately, they’re not helping the child with his situation. Our aspiration for this petition, is to raise awareness for the lack of help we are receiving, to give this child a safe and loving home, where his needs are met.

The babysitter, and her family has taken this child under their wings, as he is considered family. But knowing he can be removed by the father and/or at any given point in time, he is threatened with the fate of emotional abuse, and possibly physical abuse. The young boy displays symptoms consistent with ADHD, and Autism but unfortunately, we are unable to receive a diagnosis, or any other medical attend he may require, as we have no legal rights to do so. We hope this petition reaches the eyes of someone in power to assist us, and the boy, in his future and present needs.
