The Issue

I am extremely concerned about the increasing pollution levels in Delhi. It's not just statistics for me; it's personal. My neighbours and even our beloved pets are suffering from various health problems that stem from the seriously deteriorating air quality. I worry about the long-term impact this crisis will have on our community and the city as a whole if we don't take decisive action today.

Delhi's air quality has consistently ranked among the worst in the world. Major contributors to this crisis include vehicular emissions, industrial pollution, and the burning of crop residue in neighbouring states. According to the World Health Organization, air pollution can lead to respiratory diseases, cardiovascular problems, and a significant decrease in life expectancy. Sadly, these issues are becoming alarmingly common for Delhi's residents.

It's essential that we urge the Delhi government to implement effective measures to mitigate air pollution. These measures could include increasing green spaces across the city, improving public transportation to reduce vehicular emissions, and collaborating with neighbouring states to stop stubble burning, especially during the winter months when air quality plummets.

Moreover, the government should invest in monitoring and regulating industrial pollution and enforce strict guidelines on air quality standards. Integrating renewable energy sources and promoting sustainable urban development are also crucial steps towards a greener Delhi.

I urge everyone to come together and demand urgent action from the authorities. Let's not allow pollution to further harm our communities and the health of future generations. Please sign this petition to raise awareness and drive change in Delhi's air quality management.
