Northumberland-Quinte West MPP Lou Rinaldi announced Jan. 30 at Trenton Memorial Hospital that the Ministry of Health had designated the Trenton Memorial Hospital site as a health-care hub/hospital with a 24 –hour emergency room.

INQUINTE.ca quoted Mr. Rinaldi as saying, “this type of health hub would be a new way of delivering community health services.”

Until such time as this event takes place, we are demanding the Ministry of Health to

1. STOP QHC from removing day surgeries from TMH.

2. STOP QHC from removing approximately 3million of TMH surgical equipment to Belleville General Hospital that was paid for by Quinte West residents.

3. STOP QHC from removing any other programs and services already in existence at TMH.
